It was about a month before Christmas when our group manager called all of us for the boardroom for an emergency meeting. We have been all anxious given that the 4th quarter reports has just been released and we don't know if we created it by way of the quota or not. All of a sudden he said: "Who desires to visit Palawan?"
As it turns out, our team had currently reached the quota halfway by means of the quarter and we had been already going beyond it. To celebrate this, our team manager had bought us all MetroDeal vouchers to get a three day, 2 nights trip to Palawan.
The voucher stated that we should opt for either the Underground River or the Honda Bay Tour. I of course wanted to go to the Underground River, but right after the voting, the Honda Bay Tour won. Well, Palawan is still Palawan, wherever you choose to visit. We flew to Palawan two weeks before Christmas.
Honda Bay just isn't just a physique of water. Within it were several islands that serve as property to a lot of land and marine wildlife. Because Palawan is primarily an eco-reserve, there are actually only 3 islands that were open to the public: Snake Island, Starfish Island, and Pandan Island.
These three islands are renowned tourist and snorkeling spots. You could see numerous stores around the shore renting snorkeling gear or selling swimming footwear.
Our initially cease was Snake Island. No, there weren't any snakes there, or at the least none appeared. The island got its name for its shape, which is a extended curvy strip of white sand. Walking on it felt like walking down the aisle! (Just kidding) But it was fascinating to feel how such land formation was not man-made but created by Nature itself.
Our second stop was the popular Isla Pandan (or Pandan Island). This time it got its name from the numerous pandan plants developing in the area. After obtaining our lunch there, we decided to complete a bit of snorkeling there (nobody was basically up for it at Snake Island simply because we had been all hungry).
Lastly for our final cease, we headed for the Starfish Island. Like Isla Pandan, the island was named as such because of the starfish that get washed ashore there. And they have been not kidding! Each few methods we would uncover a starfish, nevertheless alive, wanting to acquire back into the water. We had a lot of enjoyable throwing them back. There were some though, that wasn't able to make it. We wanted to take them as souvenier however the tour guide warned us not to.
When we got back to Manila, our team manager promised to obtain us an even far better travel voucher from MetroDeal for this coming summer season provided that we go more than our quota once again. It might not be Palawan, however the Philippines is major, plus the world is vast. Who knows? Possibly we can go to Hongkong alternatively.
